Past President of JSU Alumni Board Emily Sides Bonds Named to 2012 Edition of "Alabama Super Lawyers"

Emily Sides Bonds, immediate past president of the Jacksonville State University Alumni Association Board, is one of nine Jones Walker attorneys recently listed to the 2012 edition of Alabama Super Lawyers. 

Alabama Super Lawyers is an annual publication produced by Law & Politics magazine and serves to identify attorneys reaching high levels of peer recognition and professional achievement. Attorneys in Alabama Super Lawyers are selected through a multi-step selection process that begins with a statewide survey of attorneys.

Ms.Bonds is a partner in the firm’s Business & Commercial Litigation Practice Group and practices from the firm's Birmingham office. Her practice focuses on the areas of litigation and alternative dispute resolution.

She has represented clients in a wide array of commercial litigation, including professional liability litigation, coverage litigation, products liability, mass torts, and class action litigation. Ms. Bonds' practice extends to all state and federal courts in Alabama and Mississippi. In addition to her substantial and varied litigation experience, she is a trained mediator. Ms. Bonds is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court; the U.S. District Court for the Northern, Middle and Southern Districts of Alabama; and the U.S. District Court for the Northern and Southern Districts of Mississippi. She is also admitted to practice before the 5th and 11th Circuit Courts of Appeal.

Ms. Bonds was named Lawyer of the Year by the Birmingham Legal Secretaries Association. She is a member of the Alabama Defense Lawyers Association, Alabama State Bar, American Bar Association, The Mississippi Bar, and the Birmingham Bar Association, where she serves as President of the Section of Alternative Dispute Resolution. Ms. Bonds is also the Past President of the Jacksonville State University Alumni Association.

Ms. Bonds earned her bachelor of arts degree, with distinction and special honors, from Jacksonville State University, and her juris doctor degree from The University of Alabama School of Law. She is listed in The Best Lawyers in America® 2012 (Copyright 2011 by Woodward/White, Inc., Aiken, SC) in the area of Insurance Law and was recently named one of Birmingham Magazine’s “Top Attorneys” in the area of Insurance Defense Law. She was also named one of "Top 40 Under 40" by the Birmingham Business Journal (2004), as well as "Lawyer of the Year" by the Birmingham Legal Secretaries Association (2007).
