03/05/2012

Jacksonville State University Department of Art is proud to announce the 2012 Juried Student Exhibition opening Thursday, March 8, 2012 - April 4, 2012, in the Hammond Hall Art Gallery. This exhibition, featuring the best of student work, awards First Place and Honorable Mention to the best entries in painting, printmaking, watercolor, design, ceramics, photography, drawing, and graphic design.

The Juried Student Exhibition, our largest and most exciting exhibit of the year, is a must see event that offers the regional community a chance to see the creations of our most talented art students.

While in Hammond Hall stop in to visit our new Student Gallery in room 112A. Run by art students, this intimate little gallery will showcase one of Allison McElroy mixed media projects “Exploring the Simple” in which each of her students were instructed to cut out 512 squares. Come and see what 18 art students created with 9.000 squares in the project “Silence is Loud."

The opening reception is Thursday, March 8 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and as always, exhibitions are free and open to the public.
