Tonna is a native of Calhoun County and graduated from Alexandria High School. She also attended GSCC and JSU. Tonna came to work for JSU in 2003 in the Child Development Center then moved to the office of Graduate Studies in 2006 and then to the International House in 2013.

Climbing trees, rolling his belly, indexing documents, and riding his bike with no hands, James Thompson is a senior studying psychology during the day, but when night falls, he is known as SuperBatch!!! Nothing stays on his desk for more than an hour; all I-20s and transfer-out-requests flee the scene when they see SuperBatch!!! on the job.
