Maintaining a healthy academic relationship with your advisor is key in becoming a successful and confident student. We are here to assist you when you need us. Although “The ultimate responsibility for understanding and completing degree and requirements lies with the student" (JSU Undergraduate Catalogue), your Advisor will help keep you on track and assist you if you have any questions or concerns. 

Distance Education students who take 100% classes online, your academic advisor is Tammy Johnson tjohnson@jsu.edu.   

For Traditional Pre-Nursing and Pre-Respiratory Therapy students who take classes on-campus, your academic advisor is Tricia Nelson pnelson@jsu.edu 

For Freshman and Sophomore Kinesiology students, your academic advisor is Morgan Pike mwpike@jsu.edu

Yes. You need to meet with your advisor so that he/she can give you guidance to complete your degree on schedule. During the meeting you will discuss your plan of study, and ask any questions you may have. Once your advisor has verified that the courses you will take will meet your major’s requirements, your “pin” will be removed and you will be able to register for courses.
