If you previously attended JSU within the past two terms, no action is needed. If you have not attended JSU in more than two terms, you will need to complete a "Readmission Application,” which is FREE. There is no fee for this application.  If you need assistance completing the Readmission Application, please contact the Office of Admissions 256-782-5268.

You have the option of petitioning for reinstatement. The first step is to apply for admission (see above for information) or you may contact integratedstudies@jsu.edu for more information on the petition process.

Returning students may qualify for federal student aid. To determine eligibility, complete the current year’s FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) and have it sent to JSU (school code: 001020). Once completed and submitted, a Student Aid Report, which indicates a student’s potential eligibility, will be generated. JSU will receive the FAFSA within 3-5 business days and will reach out via the student’s JSU email regarding any outstanding requirements and/or the financial aid offer.

Once readmitted, returning students are also encouraged to complete the JSU’s Competitive Scholarship Application, on MyJaxState. The application opens September 1 and closes February 1.

JSU’s current Tuition and Fees are online, and there is a special deal for Finish What You Started students.

Returning students taking at least 6 hours in one semester will receive 3 of those hours tuition-free.

This is a cost-savings of $970!
