JSU is committed to creating a campus environment where all Jacksonville State University community members can thrive. HR provides leadership, guidance, support, and resources, for many of the diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives at JSU. For example, HR promotes programs that provide opportunities for JSU community members to broaden their experiences, knowledge, perspectives, and capacity to effectively communicate. HR also helps ensure institutional compliance with pertinent laws and regulations that promote affirmative action, anti-discrimination, and equal opportunity.

To be sure, fostering a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment cannot be the work or priority of a single office—and here at JSU, it is not. The Department of Human Resources collaborates with many campus and community partners equally commitment to advancing diversity, equity and inclusion aims. Ultimately, HR's goal is to create a campus environment wherein all JSU community members feel safe and supported with the resources needed to feel valued, successful, and fully engaged in the academic and employment environments.
